EFT Stanari Receives Best Greenfield Investment Award for 2013

Sarajevo, December 9, 2014 – EFT Stanari received the Best Greenfield Investment Award at the traditional annual event in Sarajevo, organized yesterday by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency.

The Agency’s “Investor Of the Year” award recognizes foreign companies whose investments in the previous year resulted in the generation of new jobs, trade deficit reduction, the introduction of new technologies and management methodologies, as well as to boosting the competitiveness of the BH economy.

EFT - Mine and Thermal Power Plant Stanari is a member of EFT Group. The Group’s investment in the Stanari Project – the revitalization of lignite mine and the construction of a 300MW power plant – is the largest energy project in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the last three decades.

EFT’s overall investment since the company’s founding in 2005 totals EUR 399 million.  In 2013, EFT invested more than EUR 145 million, and another EUR 163 million in 2014. The company created 277 new jobs, and now has 566 employees.

The Stanari power plant will begin trial operation in 2015, and its commercial work is planned for 2016, when the company will have more than 900 full-time employees.
