Logistics preparations for the Stanari TPP project under way

A delegation from China’s Dongfang Electric Corporation has been visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina for the past ten days in order to evaluate the optimal logistics routes for the Stanari TPP project.

“The building of the Stanari TPP represents a unique logistical undertaking, the kind of which we have not seen in this region for a long time. Apart from a large volume of standard equipment, we need to determine and prepare routes for delivery of what we call ‘non-standard equipment’, comprised of components which is either extremely heavy or out of size”, said EFT’s logistics officer, Predrag Cvetkovic.

Dongfang’s representatives were accompanied by representatives of COSCO and Sinotrans, two of China’s leading transport companies, as well as freight specialists from Romania, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The delegation evaluated capacities of the ports in Ploce, Rijeka, Split and Constanza, and possible rail and road routes from these destinations to Stanari.
