EFT interest to build the 200 MW TPP Trbovlje

The EFT Group announced today that it is interested to build a 200 MW gas fired thermal electric power plant in Trbovlje, Slovenia.

“We have identified the potential to build a CCGT power plant in Trbovlje, which we feel represent a realistic solution to the long lasting problem of this energy complex. The plant we plan to build would have a 200 MW installed capacity and the estimated value of this investment would be in the region of 100 and 150 million Euro. The initial project analyses have yielded positive results and we will continue our formal communication with the Slovenian authorities regarding this matter. Once all the necessary permits have been issued, it would take us two and a half years to complete this project. Apart from the additional 200 MW of installed capacity, which would stabilize the Slovenian energy system, this plant would further foster the development of competition in the Slovenian energy sector. This will bring benefits to Slovenian consumers, through cheaper energy and better quality of service”, said Tomaz Oresic, EFT’s director of marketing for western and central Europe.

EFT has so far invested over 50 million Euro in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is the leading investor in the electric energy sector in the region.
