European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approves the prequalification tender for TPP Stanari

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approved the recently completed prequalification tender for the construction of TPP Stanari, near Doboj. The tender was announced on September 10, on the EBRD website. The tender called for interested companies, capable of constructing the TPP on a turn-key basis, to register themselves as interested parties.

“The total of 9 companies bought tender documentation. After careful deliberations a decision was made that the only valid was submitted by the French Alstom Power Centrales. EBRD concurred with our decision, which is a very important as it significantly brings this bank closer to financing the project and a successful closure of the entire financial structure”, said EFT Group Communications Director, Nenad Savic.

EFT has stated that the precise value of the project will be known once the precise details of the project are determined, but that it will certainly exceed EUR 600 million. “We expect about 25% of this project to be funded by EBRD. Eft will cover as much as 25% from its own sources, while the funding of the remaining sum will be provided by the commercial banks and a partner company”, Savić said.
