The use of the tunnel ensures additional annual production of 140 GWh of power. EFT Group will recoup its investment by off-taking the energy produced by the tunnel over the period of 7 years. After this period, the tunnel and all its technology will remain in the sol ownership of the state utility.

The building of the tunnel is so far the biggest single investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina's energy sector. Over 400 people were directly employed during its construction, while several hundred more found indirect employment.
